BOSTON BRUINS:
CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER
In 2011, I designed a championship banner for the Boston Bruins during a quick-turn competition celebrating their Stanley Cup win. Several designers submitted concepts, and the team selected mine to move forward. The goal was to create a bold, high-impact design that could be produced quickly and installed on the Massachusetts State House for the victory parade.
THE PROCESS
On June 15, 2011, the Boston Bruins won the championship against the Vancouver Canucks, securing their first title in 39 years. Working for Mammoth Media at the time, our design department was tasked with proposing options for a banner that would be hung on the Massacusetts State House in celebration of the victory. With only a couple of hours to concept and produce a layout, I aimed for a simplistic clean design that could be quickly printed. The team chose my design to proceed with. With this being such a tight timeline (we needed to print and hang the banner ASAP!) this was an all hands on deck project. After the banner was printed, we all made our way to the parking lot to help grommet this massive piece at 30 feet wide by 30 feet tall.
