YEAR of the manager
BRAND SYSTEM & Toolkit

I had so much fun with this project. In 2017 my Creative Director reached out to everyone asking if anyone wanted to jump on a side project. Our HR department was looking to have branding and a toolkit created for “Year of the Manager”. A handful of designers presented options along with me. It was completely open to what we thought “Year of the Manager” would look like. I took a fun spin on it, with the idea, that “Year of The Manager” would be a band tour, the band, being made up of Hasbro characters. Each month would have a different theme/tour date. 

THE PROCESS

I created the initial band concept, turning some of Hasbro’s beloved characters into a rock band, with Bumblebee on guitar, a DohDoh on the drums, DJ Pon-3 on the keyboard, and Mr. Monopoly as the lead singer.  - “Amp it Up!”

I designed a suite of branded assets including a PowerPoint presentation template, Word document template, a monthly roadmap of classes, an adaptable poster that could be updated each month based on class offerings, custom icons, logos, supporting graphics, and an email template for monthly email blasts.

THE RESULT

A flexible branding system that reflects a range of leadership styles, brought to life through the concept of individual “members of the band.” The theme “Amp it Up”, created as an energetic and approachable way to communicate capability building and growth. Throughout the assets, Hasbro’s brands were integrated in a playful, authentic way—keeping the overall tone fun and engaging without feeling overly corporate.
